We know about the modulation and demodulation process for transmitting signals. Signals are used to transmit for frequency generating purposes. Satellite dish is such kind of device that generates frequency through low noise block converter. Hence, portable satellite dish is a dish that uses the same purposes. The shape of satellite dish is like a parabolic antenna, which designed to receive frequencies from communication satellites. For example satellite television that receives these microwaves. In this article, you have to learn purposes of this portable satellite dish.

What’s the better than being able to obtain lightning-fast Internet links in your home? It allows getting those broadband speeds no matter where you go away. As if satellite Internet services were not breaking enough limits by enabling people those are living in rural areas. As they are city-dwelling counterparts, so it’s no matter to connect to the same speed with the Internet in those areas. Now satellite users also can get this super-fast Internet protocol services if they are in travel, through installing a portable satellite dish on their RV.

In the next part you will learn what an automatic portable RV satellite dish is.

Winegard RV Satellite Dish

Winegard RV Satellite DishA Winegard RV satellite dish is not only popular but also very affordable. Two of its most popular kinds are the RM-DM46 and RD-4600. These two popular RV satellite dishes are the same in many ways except the latter does not include the magic LCD readout position sensor. RM-DM46 is simple to operate and easy to install because of its digital magic sensor. To locate the appropriate source of signals for the installation of a Winegard RV satellite dish in a camping site, using an added digital satellite. The dish can be lowered, rotated, and raised by using hand eccentric to search for the best reception position.

The Winegard RV satellite dish has an operating radius of 35 inches only, which allows the dish to fit in compact in many recreational vehicle. Its LNBF is connected to the folding feed support as well. The interior control parts of the satellite dish are molded plastic and sturdy. The system is only eight inches high in travel position and 30 inches high when raised. The satellite dish weighs about 12 pounds and includes a coax cable when purchased.

Just like any RV satellite dish systems, the Winegard RV satellite dish requires an accurate spot for the satellite signals. The dish should be setup outside from the vehicle to give correct compass readings apart from the satellite signals acquisitions. Once the satellite dish is setup and leveled, open the receiver and tune the television. You can use the receiver manual for the instructions on signal meter screen, entering zip codes, and using remote control for the receiver. To raise the antenna, the elevation handle can be turned clockwise and to lower the antenna, the elevation handle can be turned counterclockwise. However, if the antenna is in travel position, the digital display wall plate of the satellite dish will reflect as “LL”, which means Low Limit. If the satellite dish is in up position, the wall plate will show as “HL”, which stands for High Limit.

To raise the antenna of Winegard RV satellite dish, eccentric elevation handle should be used. Once the readout displays the correct elevation of the location, stop the cranking. This is usually determined if the signal meter screen is found on the receiver. The antenna should be rotated very slowly until the satellite signals are correctly acquired. The rotation should not be done continuously on the antenna since it will change the elevation angles of the satellite dish.

The antenna of Winegard RV satellite dish should not be lowered unless it is in travel position. Thus, it is important to check for obstructions on the parking location where the antenna is to be raised. The lowering of the antenna can be done before the vehicle is moved. Do not forget to call the program provider of the receiver for the activation of the programming.

RV Satellite Dish Mount

RV Satellite Dish MountOver the last few years, the RV satellite dish mount have undergone drastic changes. In the past, most users of this satellite dish mount need to wind up their RV television antenna and make adjustments on hours just to pick up the local channels. But today, the traditional RV television antenna was already replaced with a mobile satellite dish mount that can be controlled from the inside and mounted on the roof of RV.

Before you can use your RV satellite dish mount, you need to subscribe to any satellite providers available in your area. It can either be Dish Network or DirecTV. Every satellite dish mount requires for a satellite dish receiver since it will be use on the road. The advanced technology of RV satellite dish system is revolutionary. With this, people can enjoy hundreds of clear digital channels on their RVs. Of course, this is only possible with the use of an RV satellite dish mount along with solar panels that make the satellite system running on free and clean solar panel.

There are different types of RV satellite dish mount. In every type, there are designated features as well. Some RV satellite dish mount systems have portable antenna and comes in easy installation. If you are on location, just look for a level spot where you can position the satellite dish mount then attached the table to the receiver. Once it is already in place, do the necessary tasks such as entering the local zip code in the setup menu, moving the base to the right direction, and setting the elevation angle on the dish.

Some RV satellite dish mount systems are not only portable, easy to install, and lightweight but also permanently and completely assembled on its base and antenna. The base of the satellite dish mount typically has built-in compass and level. A cable of 25 feet is stored permanently at the bottom of the base and a convenient handle as well for carrying is installed on the side. The receiver is not usually included. The installation of the antenna is easy as it is done on the ground and away from buildings or trees that may block the satellite signals.

There are some RV satellite dish mount that has automatic multi-satellite antennas. Such antennas have the best performance in the market as long as there are more programming and satellite signals are available in the location. The performance requirements and specifications of multi-satellite antennas are best for satellite providers such as DirecTV or Dish Network. Every RV satellite dish mount is equipped with the same great features, appearances, and restrictions.

RV Satellite Dish

RV Satellite Dish ImageInstalling an RV satellite system requires different hardware and materials that include a pile of installation goodies, remote control, a receiver, and an RV satellite dish. This kind of satellite system is something that can be installed in the house or mobile houses. It is useful for many people in various reasons as well. The dish or satellite antenna should be located on an area that can receive satellite signals for the television programming. There are many different satellite dishes available ranging from the most basic system to the most advanced system.

An RV satellite dish helps track and locate satellite signals automatically even when driving on the road. It works on the same principles just like other satellite dishes. It gathers weak signals from the satellite circling in the clouds and amplifies it before sending to the receiver. If the signals are weak, the parabolic dish antenna should be pointed to the satellite directly. The pointing should have a fair degree of accuracy and tightly controlled for consistency.

Buying for an RV satellite dish can be very expensive. If you have the tight or limited budget, then opt for a manual dish antenna instead. However, using a manual dish antenna will require pointing at the right direction. Just like a brand new dish antenna, the manual dish antenna also works the same way. It has a concave dish that collects the satellite signals and focus it on the feed or LNB. The feeds or LNB then collects the signals, amplifies it, and send it along to the receiver through a cable. The receiver can be located inside or outside of the home. The LNB of the dish antenna can support one or more receivers depending on the pattern. Apparently, there are some satellite systems that use multiple headed signals to allow the use of two satellites at a time. The dish antenna can be mounted to bracket that is adjustable. This will allow changing the elevation of the dish as well as its azimuth.

To receive satellite signals, the RV satellite dish must be anchored or mounted firmly and pointed in the accurate direction. There are many ways on how to anchor or mount the satellite dish. One of these ways is mounting the satellite dish on the roof as this will make it more wind resistant and stable. In this way, the satellite dish will also be less accessible for those who want to tamper it. Some satellite dish can be set up on tripods; however the possibility of getting stolen is always there. Although this rarely happens, you must still anticipate it.

A RV satellite dish that is roof mounted is useful in all situations. However, the only problem that you care about to encounter on this method, is the trees. Spot an area on your roof where there is no blocking of trees as this will make the satellite signals weak. If you are to use tripods for the mounting of satellite dish, ensure that you have extra cables in able to reach the open area for satellite signals. However, if the tripods are to be used in camping situation, anchoring it on the ground will be a good idea to avoid being blown over.
